I can't recommend the place. It's so down to earth and laid back that no one noticed me. People were enjoying themselves so much, I couldn't believe that *I* wasn't the reason. They were quite taken by this attractive woman's Italian stockings -- not of interest to me, but I can appreciate why other men would like it, right? And everyone was transfixed by this singer, Teresa Lynn, she was so funny. That really rubbed it in -- at least if no one was honoring and gawking at me, they should at least laugh at *ME*! Dancing! And the finest pizza in Boulder! I had the one with sun dried tomatoes -- they looked like the shriveled brains of my followers -- at least the kitchen staff made that little gesture of acknowledgment. By the end of the night I was so starved for attention that I threw a little tantrum on a couch in the lobby, jumping and jumping and jumping until I could jump no more, and all that happened was a nice woman came over and motioned for me to stop. I kept playing, but she resolutely stood watch. Then the band abruptly stopped (right in the middle of a bass solo!) and I just slinked off to my room, dejected and lonely.

My wife and I are now regulars at Skinny Jay's - an intimate venue where you can get a tasty plate of pasta, a Colorado microbrew and, of course, great blues! Life is sweet! Boulder's best down-home music settings.

I always enjoy the slip aways to the Boulder Outlook.Gives me a chance to visit the blues folks up close. To sit down with a cat like Margolin or Willie "Big Eyes" is as close to the source as one can get. Keepin the Blues alive is not just an expression , its a mission. The future is bright if you turn off the light you TV gives off and get to a live show.

Love the Outlook! What a great place to play and great place to find the best blues in Boulder.
Dan King is a "saint" in how he treats our local musicians and Honey Sepeda's blues news is just what we needed to spread the word......and the pizza is pretty darn good too.
Looking forward to our next show there

Hey Dan... and you write too! Re: Jason Ricci - Rocket Number 9... kudos for your well written review! - a daring challenge for anyone attempting to scribe in place of Honey's superior prose! Sure appreciate the life you add to "the blues" in Colorado!
Oooohh, Sweet Mama!

I LOVE the Boulder Outlook and their support of the Blues!! Dan King really does his research and brings in the best talent from across the country! The artists are treated like royalty and are happy to come back for that and many other reasons.
Whenever I head to the Outlook, I know in for a GREAT show and that Skinny Jay's will be serving up some wonderful food!! It's so nice to have a "home" for the blues here in Boulder. We've needed a hub for some time know and I truly think Dan has created that! Thanks to all of you who help to make these shows come together!
See you at tonight's show!!
